Marian Eggers Jeske, 86, a resident of Albuquerque for 55 years, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 20, 2010. Viewing will be at Beck Funeral Home, 15709 Ranch Road 620; Austin, Texas 78717, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., on Thursday, February 25, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 26, 2010, at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 17000 Smyers Lane, Round Rock, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold on January 17, 2010; her parents; five sisters; and one brother. She is survived by daughter, Beth Saslowsky and husband Norm of Weaverville, North Carolina; daughter, Kathleen Watson and husband Greg of Ridgecrest, California; son, David and wife Carolyn of Round Rock, Texas; sister, Lois Eggers of Omaha, Nebraska; and sister-in-law, Leila Heck Eggers of Clarion, Iowa. She also leaves behind three grandchildren: Kelly Watson of Ridgecrest, California, Rachel and Joel Jeske of Round Rock, Texas; four nephews; and three nieces. She was born in Webster City, Iowa, on November 29, 1923. Prior to moving to Albuquerque, she worked for the FBI in Washington D.C. It was there she met her husband of 64 years. They married in Webster City, Iowa. After moving to Albuquerque, Marian was very busy doing volunteer work. She worked at the library at Inez Elementary School and was a room mother there for many years. She was a Bluebird leader, Campfire Girl leader, Girl Scout leader, and Cub Scout leader. Marian was a charter member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Albuquerque where she was very active. She taught Sunday School there for many years. She was also a very accomplished seamstress. In December 2004, she moved to Round Rock, Texas, to be near her son and family. Marian will be missed by all who knew her. Donations/memorial gifts can be made in her name to either: Redeemer Lutheran Church, 210 Alvarado Drive Southeast, Albuquerque, NM or to the Samaritan's Purse International Christian relief organization providing relief for Haiti quake victims.
