Jewell M. Cunningham, of San Antonio, Texas, formerly of Goldfield, went to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, February 14, 2010. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, February 23, at 11:00 a.m., with family graveside services at a later date.

Jewell was born on February 23, 1920 in Long Beach, California. She was raised there by her parents, James and Anna (Dombrasky) Taylor. Jewell married Daryl Cunningham on April 6, 1947. To this union two children were born. The family lived in Long Beach, California, until they moved to the Cunningham family farm in April 1956. Jewell worked for the Clarion Memorial Hospital for 25 years, first as a nurse's aide and then as the purchasing agent. Jewell was active in her church and community. She was a Sunday School Teacher, Bible School Teacher, Trustee, Emma Henry Circle, Legion Auxiliary, Sew Sew Club, Boy Scout Leader and a girls' 4-H Leader. She loved traveling with her husband and friends to various countries and states. Jewell loved painting pictures, ceramics and wood and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are her children, Daryl (Sue) Cunningham of San Antonio, Texas and Diane (Dean) Nelson of Goldfield; 6 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Daryl; 2 sisters, Gladys and Cloye; 1 brother, Orville; and great-grandson, Jonathon.
