October 2002Mason City, IA --Ardith V. Buchanan, 82, of 1208 Third St. N.E. in Belmond and formerly of Mason City, died Thursday (Oct. 3, 2002) at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with Rev. Kathy Graves, coordinator of Spiritual Care Hospice of North Iowa officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and until time of services Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Hospice of North Iowa.
Ardith was born April 2, 1920, in Belmond, the daughter of Bernold O., and Neva (Oler) Kinseth. She graduated from Alexander High School. Ardith married G. Gordon Buchanan on Oct. 23, 1938, in Goodell. She lived in the North Iowa area her entire life, most recently in Belmond. Ardith enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, playing cards, and fishing.
She is survived by daughters, Janice L. Dunahoo and her husband, Roger, of Mason City, Karen R. Kudla and her husband, Stan, of Temecula, Calif., Vickie L. Moretz and her husband, Jim, of Santa Ana, Calif., Pamela K. Keenan and her husband, Richard, of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Barbara A. Skellenger and her husband Steve, of Santa Ana; one son, Alan G. Buchanan, of Olympia, Wash.; 14 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren; sisters, Avon Armour and Maxine Dorr of Belmond; brothers, Roland Kinseth, Roger Kinseth and Larry Kinseth, all of Belmond.
