Mason City, IA --G. Gordon Buchanan, 76, of 327 Registry Park, died Friday (June 17, 1994) at home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Clifton L Bruland officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 tonight at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 11 N. Pennsylvania Ave., and one hour prior to services Monday at the church. Memorials may be given to Hospice of North Iowa.

Mr. Buchanan was born Feb. 12, 1918 at Goodell, the son of Jay and Leora (Allaben) Buchanan. He graduated from Goodell High School. On Oct. 23, 1938, he married Ardith V. Kinseth at Goodell. He served with the U.S. Navy Seabees during World War II. Mr. Buchanan worked for S & R Chevrolet for over 40 years as sales manager. He retired in 1978. Survivors include his wife, Ardith V. Buchanan, of Mason City; five daughters, Janice L. and husband Roger Dunahoo, and Pamela K., and husband Allen Bublitz, all of Mason City, Karen R. and husband Stan Kudla of Santa Margarita, Calif., Vickie L. and husband Jim Moretz of Riverside, Calif., and Barbara A. and husband Steve Skellenger of Garden Grove, Calif.; a son, Alan G. Buchanan of Olympia, Wash.; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Evelyn Dawson of Anoka, Minn., and Betty Bell of Garner. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
