Mrs. Mae Poncin, 82, of Galt, died on Saturday morning at the Westview Manor in Britt where she had been a patient for the past two weeks. Funeral services for Mrs. Poncin were held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 23, 1975 at the United Methodist Church in Dows with the Rev. M.C. Sutherland, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery and the Willim Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. She was born near Galt on June 4, 1893 and was the daughter of David G. and Lucy E. Day Patterson. She grew to womanhood in the Galt area and worked for the late Dr. Potter of Galt as a nurse before her marriage. She was married to Victor John Poncin on February 14, 1927 at Dows and they lived in Dows until moving to the farm West of Dows, on highway #72 near Galt, about 40 years ago. Mr. Poncin died in 1953. Mrs. Poncin is survived by one son, Dale of Garner, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and four sisters. She was a member of the Mary Circle of the Methodist Church and the Social Club.
