Regis Veronica (Andrews) Crawford, age 90, died Saturday, January 2, 2010 at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center. A rosary will be led by the Catholic Daughters of the Americas at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Corpus Christi Church with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Corpus Christi Church in Fort Dodge with Father Sunny Dominic officiating. Burial will be in St. Matthews Cemetery rural Clare. Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. John A. and Meg (Clelland) Crawford of Bend, Oregon; a granddaughter Jennifer Mahr; a great-granddaughter, Jasmine Mahr; sister, Marie Moon of Eagle Grove, IA; niece, Loretta Moon of Eagle Grove, IA; and a nephew, Roger Moon of San Diego, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Mae (Cain) Andrews and husband Joseph R. Crawford.

Regis Veronica (Andrews) Crawford was born May 23, 1919 in Clare, Iowa. She attended schools in Clare and graduated from St. Matthew Academy as valedictorian. Following her education, she was a bookkeeper for the Farmers Elevator Company and also worked for the Central States Electric Telephone Company. On October 3, 1945, she married Joseph R. Crawford of Moorland at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Clare. They established their home on a farm near Moorland where they lived for almost fifty years. Regis did volunteer work for various organizations and was a committee woman for the Webster County Democratic Party, a resident advocate for the Marian Home, and executive secretary for the American Cancer Society in Fort Dodge. She was a 50-year member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. After retirement from farming, Regis purchased several buildings in Somers, Iowa, and she opened an antique store, The Curiosity Shop, that operated for many years. For a number of years, she made some of the finest doll clothes especially for "Barbie Dolls."
