Shelia Kay Harding
August 24, 1943 – October 24, 2009Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M., Wednesday at St. John’s Lutheran Church rural Hampton with burial in the Hampton Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8 P.M., at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton. Pastor David Bernhardt will officiate the service.
Shelia Kay (True) Harding, 66, of Hampton passed away on the morning of Saturday, Oct. 24th 2009, at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton. Shelia was born August 24th 1943 in Mason City, IA to Don & Shirley True. She was united in marriage to James Harding of Popejoy on January 7th 1961. Shelia was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved nothing more then to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchild. Their greatest memory of their grandma is sitting on the front porch and watching the spring and summer thunderstorms. Shelia also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and reading science fiction novels.
She is survived by her husband, James Harding, of 48 years; her children, Cynthia (Darrell) Hasch, of Hampton, Brett (Jane) Harding, of Iowa Falls, RaNay (Michael) Finnegan, of Hampton; her grandchildren Julia (Dustin) Showalter, of Sheffield, Tyson Sharp, of Meservey, Coltin and Madison Craighton, of Hampton, Tonya Harding, of Denver, CO; her great-grandchild, Chase Showalter, of Sheffield; one sister, two brothers, two half-brothers and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Don True, her mother, Shirley Moor, her stepfather, James Moor and one sister.
