Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 6 P.M. at the Franklin Prairie Apartments in Hampton, Iowa. Graveside services will be Friday at the Union Cemetery in Humboldt, Iowa, at 11:00 A.M. Rev. David Sorenson will be officiating.

Marge Olson, 84, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away September 21, 2009, at the Mercy Medical Center of North Iowa in Mason City, Iowa. She was born May 25, 1925, in Humboldt, Iowa to Harry and Margaret (Fenn) Mayer. Marge grew up in Humboldt, Iowa, and also graduated from Humboldt High School. She was united in marriage to Leon Olson on March 3, 1946, in Thor, Iowa. Marge was a stay-at-home mom to Jane and James. They lived in Humboldt until 1958, then moved to Hampton, Iowa. Marge spent the last five years being cared for by the loving staff at Franklin Prairie Apartments. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hampton, Iowa. Marge loved to golf, go on fishing vacations to northern Minnesota and attending Hampton-Dumont Bulldog athletic events. She is survived by her son James and wife Mary Lee Olson of Cedar Falls, daughter Jane Alquist and husband Larry of Hampton, and granddaughters Michelle Alquist of Hampton and Holly Olson of Cedar Falls. Marge was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leon and sister Harriet Lonning.
