Merwin Howard Maurer

June 9, 1925 - December 21, 2009

Loving and faithful husband of Norma Bogard Maurer; father of Cyndee Russell, who preceded him in death on April 27, 1989; Carol Maurer Lyon and Ann Maurer Jayne; grandfather of Conrad and Wyatt Jayne died on December 21, 2009. Merwin was most recently a resident of Tracy, California but raised his family in Santa Monica, California for more than 35 years. He was a computer programmer and analyst from the inception of the computer age. Born in Renwick, Iowa; he married his high school sweetheart in 1945. He was a patient, kind, dedicated man who had a dry wit and loved watching a great ball game on television. Merwin, having suffered from Parkinson's disease, died at his daughter Carol's home in Texas with his family around him. The family asks that donations be made to the Parkinson's Research foundation.
