Mrs. H. Helgevold dies at Humboldt

Mrs. Bessie Johnson, Wright County Clerk of Court, was bereaved by the death of her mother, Mrs. Hans Helgevold, 75, Thursday which occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert Henderson of Humboldt.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran church, Rev. Kenneth E. Torvik officiating. Burial was on Rose Hill Cemetery.

The former Bolette (Belle) Stensland , she was born at Sandleid, Stavanger, Norway, on March 15, 1879. She came to the United States in the spring of 1901 and in December of the same year was united in marriage with Hans Helgevold. They farmed in the Holmes and Eagle Grove vicinities until retiring and moving to Eagle Grove in 1943.

Mrs. Helgevold is survived by her husband and nine children: Mrs. Bessie Johnson of Clarion, who is Wright County Clerk; Howard Helgevold and Mrs. R. P. Fitzgerald of Ft. Dodge; Bert Helgevold, Arthur Helgevold and Carroll Helgevold of Eagle Grove, Joseph Helgevold of Ayrshire; Mrs. Robert Henderson of Humboldt; and Mrs. A. P. Boer of Marshall, Texas. Other survivors are 20 grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Inger Espevold and Mrs. Halvor Espevold of Norway; Tollef Stensland of Ames; and Knute Stensland of Nevada, Iowa.
