Sara J. Dencklau, 70, of Vincent, died Thursday, November 5, 2009 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 9th at St John's Lutheran Church near Vincent with Rev. Bill Van Nostrand officiating. Burial will be in Colfax Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home.

Surviving is her husband Francis (Francie) of Vincent; son Gerry Dencklau and wife Cathy of Fort Dodge and their children, David Dencklau of Denton, TX, Marti Dencklau, Timmi Dencklau, Scot Dencklau, all of Fort Dodge, son, Brett Dencklau of Vincent and his children, Jessica Dencklau of Cedar Falls and her daughter, Aurora, Jennifer Dencklau of Cedar Falls; step-granddaughter Justine Dencklau of Cedar Falls; sister, Doris Higgins and her husband Richard of Rolfe; sister-in law, Luella Hinderks of Webster City; brother-in-laws, Dennis Dencklau and wife Emma Jean and Gerald Dencklau and wife Merry Jo, all of Fort Dodge; special aunt, Darlene Ryberg of Gowrie; and several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Katherine (Mannel) Reynolds; her brother, Dwight Reynolds of Gowrie; niece, Debbie Reynolds of Gowrie; father and mother-in law, Edmund and Elfrieda Dencklau and their son, Leo; brother-in-law, Dennis Hinderks.

Sara Joanne Reynolds was born July 8, 1939 in rural Farnhamville. She attended schools in Lohrville and Callender, and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1957. On January 24, 1959 she was united in marriage to Francis E. Dencklau at Grace Lutheran Church and they established their home on a farm near Vincent. Sara worked at Fort Dodge Telephone Company for a short while before becoming a homemaker raising her family. Sara also worked at Friendship Haven in her later years. She was a member of St John's Lutheran Church, and had a passion for antiquing. Sara enjoyed playing various card games with family and friends, loved watching her grandchildren participate in all their activities, loved her cat "Snoopy" and enjoyed reading. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
