Joseph (Joey) M. Brundige, age 43, of Minneapolis MN, formerly of Fort Dodge, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 26, 2009 in his home following a brief battle with esophageal cancer. Memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Saturday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.

Joe was born in Iowa City on May 13, 1966. Joe attended public schools in both Fort Dodge, and Eagle Grove. He moved to Minnesota in 1984. Joe was an assistant teacher and worked mainly with the four year old children. At the time of his death, he was a student at Minneapolis Community College where he was pursuing a degree in Juvenile Corrections. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Roberta (Coleman) Brundige. Joe is survived by his life partner, Scott Olson, (Minneapolis) one sister, Rebecca (Becky) Brundige, (Fort Dodge) Nephews, Jeremy (Sarah) Brundige, (N.C.) Alan Bradwell Jr. (Humboldt) one niece, Jamie (Austin) Kakacek, (Rolfe), great- nieces, Chloe Brundige, Alayna Kakacek, and one great-nephew, Connor Brundige. He is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins and many friends.
