Nancy Weare (Bragdon) Lister, daughter of Stanley S. and Mildred (Bruden) Bragdon, was born at home in Eagle Grove, Iowa, on Nov. 23, 1930. She was the second of two children and their only daughter. Nancy attended Eagle Grove High School and worked as a lifeguard. After graduation she attended Iowa State University and then transferred to the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. On April 12, 1953, she married Robert Eugene Lister and to this union, four daughters were born, Julie, Laurie, Kathy and Marty. The family lived in Gowrie, Iowa, and then moved to Holstein in 1962. They resided on Hamburg Street for 20 years, until they moved to their house on Kastner Drive in 1986. Bob and Nancy were married for 56 years and enjoyed living by the Holstein Golf and County Club, especially sitting on their deck "critiquing" golfers. Nancy enjoyed playing cards with girlfriends and couples, was a member and former president of Nacirema and was a Girl Scout leader. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and sang in the choir, helped with the annual turkey supper and the women's circle. Nancy enjoyed doing crosswords, fishing, golfing, camping, was an avid sewer and reading. She was known for her delicious cooking. Nancy helped run concessions at Holstein High School for many years. She co-managed the swimming pool, was a manager and bartender at the Holstein Country Club for 18 years and was known for her excellent memory of people's names and what they drank. She also followed and enjoyed her grandchildren's many athletic events.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Bob; her children, Julie and Mike Backman of Sioux City, Laurie Lister of Sioux City, Kathy and Mick Kraatz of Holstein, and Marty and Mike Dunlop of Cedar Falls, Iowa; grandchildren, Matt and Jill (Baxter) Holmes, Kristi, David and Brian Baxter, Joseph and Cassie Gee, Michael, Maria and Adam Milda, Amanda Taylor, Lindsay Lister, Curtis Kraatz, Kelley Thies, Shawn, Jacob and Dustin Kraatz, Jenni and Kylee Ferrell, John and Ryan Dunlop; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Madison and Carlee Holmes, Nevaeh, Caiden, and Paiten Gee, Dawn Taylor and Alexis and Gabby Kraatz. Preceding her in death were her parents; her brother, Ned; and her mother-in-law, Grace.

Nancy was surrounded by her family before and upon her passing. We thank God for her presence in our life. A special thanks goes to Hospice, St. Luke's and Sunrise Retirement Center for their thoughtfulness and wonderful care and compassion.
