Joe Asbe, Former Kanawha Resident, Is Buried at Faribault

Kanawha-Joe Asbe, 64, former Kanawha resident, died Friday morning at the home of his son, Thomas Asbe of Faribault, Minn. Interment was made at the cemetery in Faribault.

Mr. Asbe suffered an attack of gallstones and died following a recent operation. He made his home on a farm near Kanawha 17 years. He had been with his son, Thomas, the past three years. His wife preceded him in death five years.

Mr. Asbe was born in Norway and came to the United States at the age of 2. Surviving are three daughters, Anna, Alma and Pearl; two sons, Thomas and Edward; his father, Hans Asbe of Kanawha; seven sisters, Mrs. T.A. Wicks, Mrs. James Mehl, Mrs. Joe Larson, Mrs. Oscar Lein, Mrs. Lars Olson, Mrs. Elmer Thorson, all of Kanawha, and Mrs. Ben Hill of Austin, Minn.; three brothers, Bert Asbe and Anfin Asbe of Kanawha and Tom Asbe of Forest City.
