WEBSTER CITY - Hilman I. Skiye, 92, of Webster City, died Sunday, October 11, 2009 at the Hamilton Hospital. His body was cremated and Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Foster Chapel, with Rev. Dr. Mike Kroona and Rev. Tony D. Ede officiating. Burial will be in the Lake Lutheran Cemetery at Goldfield. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center one hour before the memorial service.

Hilman I. Skiye, 92, of Webster City, died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009 at Hamilton Hospital. His body was cremated and memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Foster Chapel, with Rev. Dr. Mike Kroona and Rev. Tony D. Ede officiating. Burial will be in the Lake Lutheran Cemetery at Goldfield. Visitation will be at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center one hour before the memorial service.

Hilman Ivanhoe Skiye, son of Ole and Thora Wilson Skiye, was born August 10, 1917 at Goldfield. He received his education in Goldfield schools. On April 12, 1940, he married Georgia Elizabeth Gray at Blue Earth, MN. The couple farmed in the Lake Township area. They moved to Webster City in 1959. He was employed at the Blairsburg COOP Elevator for 10 years then worked as a custodian at Webster City Community Schools until his retirement. Mrs. Skiye died May 24, 2001. The couple wintered in Mission, TX for over 25 years. He had resided at Crestview Senior Living for the past 3 years.

Hilman is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and Bill Madison of Goldfield; Helen and Larry Carstens of Blairsburg; Jane and Clark Byers of Des Moines; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Florence Christiansen of Bloomington, MN; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Willis Skiye and sister, Hilma Skiye. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City.
