North Dakota - source unknownGenevieve M. Mosher, formerly of Clifford, ND, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2009. Gen and her daughter, Beth Greene had been living in Katy, Texas near another daughter, Carol Sherbeck and her family. Both daughters and the granddaughter, Joelle, had been with Gen the morning that she quietly fell asleep for the final time. Genevieve was ready to go home. Although Gen was born in Valley City, ND, she grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota and before WWII, Gen moved out to the West Coast, where she met Ralph on a double date. The two were married in Everett, WA. They moved back to Minneapolis, MN, after Ralph was discharged from the Army Air Corp. In 1947 Ralph bought a hardware store in Clifford, ND. This town was just 17 miles from where he had grown up, Erie, ND. For the next 30 years, they lived and worked in Clifford and raised five children.
Upon retiring, Ralph and Gen volunteered their time and abilities to places such as Trinity Western University in Langley, BC, Canada and LeTorneau University in Longview, TX. After this, they joined the RVICS (Roving Volunteers in Christ’s Service) and traveled around to different mission stations doing whatever jobs, wherever needed. Next, the couple moved to Escondido, CA for eight years. From there, they moved to Bellingham, WA, for nine years and then to Clarion, IA, where they lived at the “Meadows” for four and a half years until Ralph passed away. Beth moved to Katy, TX, with Gen in the fall of 2005 and the two lived together until June of 2009, when Gen was moved into the “Villa” in Katy, TX. Gen was at the Villa for two months until her death. She was cremated and is buried in Erie, ND.
Gen is survived by her children, Steve (Donna) Mosher, Omaha, NE, Beth Greene, Katy, TX, Margaret (Dan) Cramer, Clarion, IA, Janet (Jim) Burns, Coquitlam, BC, Canada and Carol (Tim) Sherbeck, Katy, TX. There are twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Gerry (Chuck) Bjarnason, Chicago, IL; brother, Dick (Lorraine) Holmes, Minneapolis, MN; sisters-in-law, Lucille Mosher, Edina, MN and Virginia Homan, LaMoure, ND.
