Florence Stotser, 96, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away Wednesday at the Presbyterian Village, Ackley, Iowa. Funeral services for Florence Stotser will be 10:30 am Monday, April 30th, at the First Christian Church, Iowa Falls, with Reverend T. J. Norman officiating. Burial will be at Union Cemetery, Iowa Falls. A time of visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Sunday evening at the Linn's Funeral Home, Iowa Falls. Memorials may be directed to the Presbyterian Village Foundation Board, 502 Butler St. Ackley, Iowa 50601, or to the First Christian Church, 221 Fischer Avenue, Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126.

Florence Agnes (Erickson) Stotser was born September 21, 1910, in Vincent, Iowa, to Lewis Marshall and Mary Adelaide (Steadman) Erickson. She attended schools in the Hampton area and graduated from Hampton High School with the class of 1928. Florence was united in marriage to Harold Israel Stotser on April 9, 1930, at Hampton, Iowa. The couple made their home on the family homestead near Robertson, Iowa, six miles east of Iowa Falls. Florence worked with Harold on the family farm until retirement. Florence then worked at the Heritage Home, formerly the Iowa Falls Care Center, in Iowa Falls for a short time before beginning a second career as a Hardin County Homemaker Health Aide, retiring a second time at the age of 80. Florence stayed busy traveling with friends, her sisters, and her daughters, volunteering at the Christian United Women's Thrift Center and was a lifelong member of Mary Lane. Florence was a devoted member of the First Christian Church of Iowa Falls where she played the organ for church services and Junior Choir. She was actively involved in church activities such as the annual Harvest Craft Bazaar and the Quilting Craft Group on Tuesday mornings. Florence enjoyed reading, watching birds and deer from her kitchen window, playing Scrabble and was a master of the crossword puzzle.

Death came to Florence on Wednesday, April 25, 2007, at the Presbyterian Village in Ackley, Iowa where she had been a resident since October 2002. She is survived by son George and wife Velda of Hubbard, daughter Lois and husband Jack of Alexandria, VA, son John and wife Elisa of Santa Barbara, CA, son Bruce and wife Francis of Waverly, nineteen grandchildren, forty great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren, one sister-in-law Lorraine Erickson of Pt. Ludlow, Washington, a son-in-law, John May of Des Moines, and a daughter-in-law, Betty Stotser of Marshalltown. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold (1984), four sisters, Jeanette Whitacre, Anna Musson, Amy Snyder, and Ruby Branson, two brothers, Ralph and Phillip, four children, Marilyn May, Patty Boylan, Robert and William, and one grandson, Michael Stotser, son of Robert.
