Tena Christians Brouwer was born in Wright County, Ia. On May 11, 1893 to Anno and Tena Veldhouse Christians. She was united in marriage to Wubbo Brouwer on July 21, 1911. They moved to Minnesota in 1918 and farmed in the Chandler and Edgerton communities, until 34 years ago when they moved to Edgerton. Mrs. Brouwer was a member of the Edgerton Christian Reformed Church and had also been a member of the Dutch Ladies Aid before it dissolved. She had been a resident of Edgebrook Rest Center, where she died Wednesday, Jan. 18, due to complications of a long illness. She was 84.

Services were held on Saturday, Jan. 21, at 11 a.m. in the First Christian Reformed Church at Edgerton. The minister was Rev. Peter Brouwer, with Walz Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements. Interment was in the Hillside Cemetery at Edgerton. She is survived by her husband, Wubbo; two sons, Anno of Pipestone and Clarence of Modesto, Calif.; four daughters, Martha, Mrs. Dick Westenberg and Nancy, Mrs. Ervin Kleinjan, both of Edgerton and Tena, Mrs. Paul Stiltner and Betty, Mrs. Roger Vanden Einde both of Bellflower, Calif.; 20 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, four brothers and a grandchild.
