Former resident Donald E. Craig died peacefully July 15, 2009, at Pacific Regent Nursing Facility, Bellevue, Wash. He was 85 years old. Donald was born Jan. 17, 1924, in Renwick, Iowa. He grew up in Anchorage, graduating from Anchorage High School in 1941. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Mary Jerden. Together they opened Craig's Family Footwear in 1962; the business served the Anchorage community until their retirement in 1986. Donald had been a resident of the Seattle area since 1995. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Donald was preceded in death by his father, Walter Craig; his mother, Ada Craig; his wife, Mary Craig; and his brothers, Robert and Earl. He leaves his son, Scott Craig and his son's wife, Louise; and several nieces, friends and his beloved cat.

Donald E. Craig passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 15, 2009. He was 85 years old. Donald grew up in Anchorage, Alaska graduating from Anchorage High School in 1941. He leaves behind his son Scott Craig and his wife Louise, several nieces, friends and his beloved Cat. Services will be held Thursday, July 23rd at 11:00 at St. Monica Church on Mercer Island.
