Patrick W. Parker, 61, died July 5, 2009 due to complications from cancer surgery. Services were held July 10 at Holy Apostles Catholic Church in Colorado Springs, CO with Father Paul Wicker officiating. A private inurnment was held. Patrick was born in Iowa City on April 29, 1948, the eldest of six sons born to Belmond native Maj. William A. Parker (USAF retired) and the late Anne (Evans) Parker. He was a resident of Colorado Springs for over forty-five years. Patrick was a 1966 graduate of Harrison High School and a 1970 graduate of the University of Iowa. From 1972-1993 he taught for Harrison School District No. 2 at Centennial and Giberson Elementary, and Harrison High schools. He was a highly revered teacher and had a very unique teaching style. Due to Pat's Irish sense of humor and personality, he was able to motivate and inspire many of his students to reach for higher goals. Pat is survived by his father Bill of Colorado Springs; stepmother June; brothers Michael (Carol), Shaun (Julie), Kevin (Holly), Kelly and Casey; four step-sisters; and two step-brothers.

Patrick W. Parker passed away July 5th due to complications from cancer surgery. He was born in Iowa City, IA on April 29, 1948; the eldest of six sons born to MAJ (Retired) William A. Parker and the late Anne (Evans) Parker. Patrick was a resident of Colorado Springs for over forty-five years. He was a 1966 graduate of Harrison High School and graduated from the University of Iowa in 1970. Pat taught in Harrison School District No. 2 from 1972 to 1993 at Centennial and Giberson Elementary and Harrison High School. He was a highly revered teacher and had a very unique teaching style. Pat is survived by his father Bill, stepmother, June five brothers, Michael (Carol), Shaun (Julie), Kevin (Holly), Kelly and Casey. He is also survived by four step-sisters, two step-brothers and numerous nieces and nephews. Pat will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Memorial Service will be held at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 4925 North Carefree Circle at 1:00 PM, Friday, July 10, with Father Paul Wicker officiating. Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Uncle Wilber Fountain, in care of Friends of the Fountain, P.O. Box 1930, Colorado Springs, CO 80901.
