Eunice Grau Ahrendsen, 84, of Clarion, formerly of Eldercare Estates and Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, June 26, 1997, in Community Memorial Hospital, Clarion, from complications of heart and kidney disease. Services: 2 p.m. Sunday, Zion Lutheran Church, Manning. Burial: church cemetery. Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Ohde Funeral Home, Manning.

Survivors include a son, Jon and wife Becky of Clarion; two daughters, Alice Hoffmeier and husband Norvin of Cedar Rapids and Jan Stanton and husband Jim of Bellevue, Neb.; seven grandchildren, Jean Ash and husband Carey of Cedar Rapids, Erich Hoffmeier of Rochester, Minn., Carolyn Stanton of Bellevue, Neb., Chris Stanton of Lincoln, Neb., and Andrea, Elizabeth and Karl Ahrendsen, both of Clarion; two great-grandchildren, Emily Ash of Cedar Rapids and Keith Stanton of Bellevue, Neb.; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugo; and a brother.

God blessed Eunice by a marriage of 55 years to Hugo Ahrendsen and the gift of three children. Eunice and Hugo farmed south of Manning for 43 years. In 1975 they built a new home in Manning. After Hugo's death in 1987, Eunice lived in Cedar Rapids until 1993, when she moved to the Meadows, a residential care facility in Clarion.
