Hazel G. Snetzler, 92, of the Anamosa Care Center, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, April 3, 2000, in the care center after a short illness. Private services: Friday, Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. There will be no visitation. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Ray Barrett will officiate. Arrangements are with Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.

Survivors include two sons, Jack and Jim and his wife, Nancy, all of Cedar Rapids. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Suzi Snetzler and her husband, John, of Phoenix, Joel Snetzler of Cedar Rapids and Amy Snetzler of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; two great-grandchildren, Joshua and John Snetzler, both of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and 11 brothers and sisters.

Hazel was born May 28, 1907, in Kanawha, the daughter of Adolf and Matilda Johnson Espe. She married John E. Snetzler on Aug. 7, 1933, in Rock Island, Ill. He died in 1957. Hazel graduated from the Des Moines College of Pharmacy, today known as Drake University, in 1930, with a degree as a pharmaceutical chemist. Memorial donations may be given to a charity of the donor's choice in Hazel's name.
