Marion R. Morehouse, 88, of Lake Worth, Texas, formerly of Marion, died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005, in Lake Worth Nursing Home following a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by the Rev. Dave Loy. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial: Shueyville Cemetery.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan Lawless of Dallas, Texas; a son, Rick Morehouse of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren, Lisa, Robin, Ann, Chris, Mary, Kathleen and Nick; 15 great-grandchildren, Destiny, Melissa, Jessica, Jason, Jonathan, Megan, Sarah, Emily, Gavin, Christian, Zachary, Caylub, Elijah, Correy and Lorraine; three great-great-grandchildren, Mercedes, Allison and Isaiah; an aunt, Rachel Machado; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd; a son, Stephen; two brothers, Jack and Ted; and a sister, Delores.

Marion was born Nov. 19, 1917, the daughter of Theodore J. and Ruth P. (Carney) Wienands, in Renwick. She graduated in 1935 with the last graduating class at the old Washington High School. On Aug. 18, 1938, she married Floyd K. Morehouse in Cedar Rapids. He died May 25, 1991. Marion worked for Allen Motor Co. and later as an office manager at Penick & Ford for 11 years. She was a Boy Scout leader for her sons and a Sunday school teacher. Marion enjoyed playing cards, bowling and fishing. A memorial fund has been established in Marion's memory.
