Ella Augusta Stone, 95, of Webster City, formerly of Cedar Rapids and Marion, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005, in Southfield Wellness Community, Webster City, following an illness. Memorial services: 10 a.m. Saturday, St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Marion, by pastors Perry Fruhling and Alfred Kaupins. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are with Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Survivors include her son, Paul of Eagle Grove. Also surviving are her daughter-in-law, Susan; grandchildren, Lauren Kennedy (Jason) of Webster City and Robert Stone of Winona, Minn.; great-granddaughter, Hannah Kennedy; and nine nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; stillborn son, Robert; and two sisters, Kathryn McGavran and Lillian Munzenmaier.

Ella was born Feb. 7, 1910, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Seth and Hulda (Carlson) Lindgren. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth, graduating from Marshalltown High School. On Nov. 27, 1947, she married Homer E. Stone in Cedar Rapids. He died May 24, 1998. Ella worked 20 years for the Iowa State Employment Service as an interviewer. She resided in Marshalltown, Stanton, Des Moines, Cedar Rapids and Marion. Many of her early years were spent at the Stanton Children's Home following the death of her mother. Ella served as Polk City PTA president and president of St. Mark's Lutheran Church Women and participated in St. Andrew's Guild and Circle. She enjoyed traveling with her husband. St. Mark's Lutheran Church is located at 8300 C Ave. NE in Marion.
