CORALVILLE, IA-- Milton J. Orth, 88, of 1500 First Ave. North, died Friday morning, Aug. 26, 1994, in Mercy Hospital after an extended illness. Services: 11 a.m. Monday, Donohue-Lensing Funeral Home, Iowa City, by the Revs. Dick Watkins and Dendy Garrett. Entombment: Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Iowa City. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Helen; two sons, William of Austin, Texas, and John of Iowa City; a daughter, Joanne Romine and husband Ron of Omaha, Neb.; three grandchildren, Christopher and Kimberly Romine and Lisa Orth; and a brother, Alvin of Aurora, Colo. He was preceded in death by three brothers.

Born July 9, 1906, in Burlington, a son of Hubert and Emma C. Vollmer Orth, he married Helen Derscheid on Sept. 25, 1937, in Eagle Grove. He was a switchman with Northwestern Bell for more than 43 years in Burlington, Davenport and Iowa City. Mr. Orth was a member of First United Methodist Church and Telephone Pioneers of America. He had been a member of Iowa City Noon Lions Club for 32 years. A memorial fund has been established.
