WATERLOO - Marcia M. Buckles, 82, of Rosewood Estate, died Sunday, Feb. 22, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home of pulmonary fibrosis. She was born Oct. 11, 1926, in Belmond, daughter of David S. and Ella Mae Smith Pierce. She married Robert D. Buckles on Feb. 28, 1947, in Waterloo, and they later divorced. Mrs. Buckles graduated from Belmond High School in 1944. She started at Allen Memorial Hospital as an occupational therapist aide, then worked as a film room clerk in the X-ray department for 18 1/2 years, retiring in 1988. She was past president of Black Hawk County Medical Auxiliary and of Schoitz Hospital Auxiliary.

Survived by: two sons, Steven R. of Waterloo and David E. (Benneth) of Lees Summit, Mo.; a daughter, Carol Ann Buckles of Waterloo; three grandchildren, Lisa Marie (Justin) Good, Sara Ann Bush and Cindy Lamp; three great-grandchildren, Brayden, Dylan and Dallas; a sister, Mavis (Dean) Gunderson of Conyers, Ga.; a brother, James (Iris) Pierce of Worthington, Minn.; a sister-in-law, Jo Pierce; and nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: her parents; a brother, David Pierce; a sister, Avis Quant; a sister-in-law, Barbara Pierce; and a nephew, Dwaine Pierce.

Services: 7 p.m. Friday at Locke Funeral Home, with burial in Waterloo Cemetery. Public visitation from 3 p.m. until services Friday at the funeral home. Memorials: may be directed to American Heart Association, Cedar Valley Hospice or donors choice.
