Jean Koestner, 87, of Webster City, died Thursday, February 15, 2007 at Crestview Senior Living. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Foster Chapel, with Rev. Gerald Caquelin officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center two hours before the service.

Jean Adel Stahl, daughter of Fred and Maude Rutledge Stahl, was born October 14, 1919 at Webster City. She attended Webster City schools graduating from Lincoln High in 1937. On April 9, 1939, she married James Lloyd Koestner at her parents home at Highview. The couple had a farm northeast of Highview for 25 years. She had been employed at Rocky’s Pizza, Shady Oaks Restaurant, Kentucky Fried Chicken and provided private home care for the community. Mr. Koestner died August 25, 1969. She retired in 1994. She moved to Crestview Senior Living in August of 1998.

Jean is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Don Nauman of Bates City, MO; sons and daughter-in-law, Larry and Joyce Koestner Of Odgen; David L. Koestner of Austin, TX; 5 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Everett Stahl of Webster City; Keith and Barbara Stahl of Lincoln, CA; sisters and brother-in-law; Betty Baker of Long Beach, CA; Carol and Marc De Nicolai of Desert Hot Springs, CA; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Tamara Jean Koestner; brother, Richard Stahl; sister-in-law, Avis Stahl; brothers-in-law, Charles Story and James Baker; sister-in-law; Dorothy Stahl. She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be given to the Faith United Methodist Church.
