source unknownMrs. Eulalia Hattie Albers, the daughter of Louis and Emma (Busch) Schmidt, was born February 1, 1911 on a farm near Garner in Garfield Township. She attended the rural schools of Garfield Township and then graduated from Garner High School after receiving her "Normal Training Teaching Certificate. She taught in the rural schools of Hancock County for several years. June 20, 1933, she was married to George Albers in the rectory of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner. They farmed east of Klemme, near Kanawha and in 1940 moved southwest of Clear Lake. In 1963, they retired from active farming and moved into Clear Lake. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholoic Church and of the Church Guild. She also belonged to the "Thought & Thimble Club."
She is survived by her daughter and her husband, Connie and Larry Wise of Primghar; her son, G. Alan Albers and his wife, Connie, of Clear Lake; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Marie Roach, Gertrude Schmidt, Ada Schmidt, and Erma Schmidt; and her sister-in-law, Mrs. Gladys Schmidt of Forest City. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, July 18, 1979; and her parents and three brothers, Leo Schmidt, Arnold Schmidt, and Alois Schmidt.
Services were held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Clear Lake on Wednesday, November 26, 1986 at 10:30 A.M. with the Rev. Edward J. Shields, Pastor, as celebrant. Eulalia died November 13, 1986 in Garner, Iowa. Burial took place at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, Iowa
