October 17, 1987HAWARDEN, Iowa - Ann "Nan" Gehan, 92, of Sioux Falls, S.D., formerly of Hawarden, died Thursday in a hospital in Sioux Falls. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sioux Falls. The Rev. James Andraschko will officiate. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in St. Mary's-Grace Hill Cemetery at Hawarden. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Sunday with a scripture service at 7 p.m. in Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home in Sioux Falls.
Mrs. Gehan, the former Ann Lynott, was born April 20, 1895, in Hawarden. She married James Gehan April 20, 1921, in Hawarden. She was employed in the business office of the Hawarden Telephone Company. The couple moved to Rock Rapids in 1928. She taught school at Rock Rapids and Eagle Grove before moving to Sioux Falls in 1949. He died in 1973. Mrs. Gehan was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Catholic Women's Literary Society, Women's Auxiliary of McKennan Hospital and St. Ann's Group of the St. Mary's Alter Society. Survivors include two daughters, Mary E. Gehan and Kathleen A. Gehan, both of Sioux Falls, and a sister, Loretto Lynott of Hawarden.
