KANAWHA, IA-- Omar J. Maland, 99, of Kanawha, died Tuesday (Aug. 20, 1996)at the Kanawha Community Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Kanawha United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Matthew Miller
officiating. Burial will be in the Norway Township Cemetery, south of Kanawha. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the Ewing-Dugger Funeral Home, Kanawha, and one hour prior to services at the church.

Omar J. Maaland was born Dec. 29, 1896, in Huxley. Survivors include his wife, LaVonne, of Des Moines; one daughter, Sharon Wigton, of Des Moines; one brother, Paul Maland of Charles City; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; three sisters; and three brothers.
