Edna A. (Ernst) Tindall was born to Oscar and Amalie Miller Ernst on January 7, 1912, at Schuyler, Nebraska. She was united in marriage to James W. Tindall at Shenandoah, Iowa on October 24, 1928. The couple lived for a time at Corning, Iowa and moved to Schuyler, Nebraska and farmed. In 1942, they moved to Corwith, Iowa to a farm, and lived there until moving into town in 1959. Edna and James ran the hardware store in Corwith for 15 years. Edna was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. She was a Sunday School teacher , a Circle member and took care of the church flowers for many years. Edna loved to garden and grow beautiful flowers. She also enjoyed sewing, pottery, making quilts and taking care of her family.

Surviving are her two children, Mrs. Robert (Natalie) Shipman and Duane D. Tindall, all of Corwith, Iowa. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Mrs. George (Maurine) McNally, her sister-in-law, Mrs. Walter (Billie) Ernst, both of Schuyler, Nebraska and her daughters-in-law, Sylvia Tindall, Britt, Iowa and Beverly Tindall, Corwith, Iowa. Edna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, James Jr. and Oscar, one grandson, Timothy Shipman, one sister, Mrs. Martin (Clare) Schulz and one brother, Walter Ernst.
