DOWS, IA -- Yvonne O. Schwieger, 82, of the Western Home, Cedar Falls, and formerly of Dows, died Wednesday (March 6, 1996) at Sartori Hospital, Cedar Falls. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Morgan United Methodist Church, rural Dows, with the Rev. Michael Tolles officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of services Saturday at Morgan United Methodist Church. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home of Cedar Falls is in charge of arrangements.

Yvonne O.Schwieger was born April 27, 1913, near Hampton, to Mark and Ocea (Meyer) Kempthorne. She married Howard W. Schwieger on Sept. 23, 1934, in Hampton. He died in 1973. Before her marriage she taught in rural Franklin County schools. Survivors include three sons, John Schwieger of Nicollet, Minn., Carlyn Schwieger of Dows, and Barton Schwieger of Cedar Falls; one sister, Dotta Peshak of Plymouth; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Margaret Welzin and Clara King; one brother, Charles Kempthorne; and one grandson, Richard Lane Schwieger.
