Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Methodist Church for Mrs. Charles A. Kastler, who died Sunday morning. Rev. Marion Blake and Rev. Lieder had charge of the services and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Kastler is survived by her husband, one brother Hobart Boughton of Tulsa, Okla., and a niece Mrs. Wm. Kniel of Quincey, Ill. The former Patricia
Boughton who made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Kastler following the death of her parents when she was a small girl. Mr. and Mrs. Boughton and Mr. and Mrs. Kniel and three children were present for the funeral. Mrs. Kastler died Sunday morning about ten o'clock at her home. Mrs. Kastler was not feeling well and was resting in her room that morning when Rev. and Mrs. Loyal Wilkinson went to the Kastler home about 10 o'clock to visit. Mr. Kastler called to her they were there, she responded and said she would be "right down". About five minutes later when she did not appear Mr. Kastler went to her room and found here dead from a stroke. Mrs. Kastler was a life long resident of Wright County. She was born in Woolstock, Iowa and her parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Ed Boughton. She graduated from Eagle Grove, Iowa high school in 1907 and later taught school. She was married to Charles Kastler June 28, 1911 and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last summer at an open house in the Congregational Church. She was a long time member of the Eagle Grove Congregational church and for more than 30 years was superintendent of the primary department. The real small children in the church were her special interest and she arranged special recognitions annually for their promotions to the church school. She retired from this position in later years, but was active in many phases of church work through the years. She was a long time member of the Cecilian Music Club, Order of Easter Star, White Shine Chapter EJ, PEO and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Keeping in close contact with Relatives in her family was a hobby of Orpha Kastler, and the annual Wallin-Boughton and Kastler family reunions were always supported by her and often held in Eagle Grove through her influence. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Orville Boughton.****************************************************
Orpha B. Kastler was born August 2, 1880 at Woolstock, Iowa and died at her home in Eagle Grove September 2, 1962. She graduated from Eagle Grove high school in 1907 and then taught public school music for several years. She was married to Charles Kastler June 28, 1911 and they resided in Eagle Grove for forty-nine years. She was a member of the Eagle Grove First Congregational Church and for many years was the primary superintendent of the church school. Mrs. Kastler was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, White Shrine, PEO, Cecilian Music Club and Daughters of the American Revolution.She was preceded in death by her mother, father and a brother Orville. She is survived by a brother Hobart and a niece Patricia who had made her home with the Kastlers. Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 5 in the First Methodist Church. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove, Iowa.
