Gordon “Hutch” Hutchinson, 78, died Monday, September 18, 2006 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 22 at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home [in Fort Dodge] with Pastor Steve Peters officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Gordon William Hutchinson was born March 28, 1928 the son of Elmer and Maudie (Johnson) Hutchinson in Popejoy, Iowa. On March 12, 1957 he was united in marriage to Naomi (Strayer) in Minnesota. To this union seven children were born. Hutch spent his entire working career as a professional truck driver. He drove truck around the entire United States for over 50 years. Hutch enjoyed his many conversations he had with people from around the country on his CB Radio. Gordon also had a great passion for polka music. Not only did he enjoy listening to the music, he enjoyed playing in a polka band.

Those thankful for having shared in Gordon’s life include his wife Naomi, mother Maudie [of Eagle Grove], children; Kelly (Dave) Miles, Eileen (Terry) Olson, Carl (Darla) Hutchinson, Richard Hutchinson, Gary (Penny) Hutchinson, Jimmy Hutchinson and friend Rhonda, and Cindy Hutchinson. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Gordon is preceded in death by his father Elmer, sister Mary Lou and grandson Jacob Hutchinson.
