Raymond Munson, 82, of Austin, died Friday, Dec. 22, 2000, at Burr Oak Manor. He was born Sept. 23, 1918, in Belmond, Iowa, and never married. Ray grew up on a farm near Belmond. He entered World War II and was in the tank division. Ray served under Gen. Patton and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He served five campaigns. Before retirement, he raised mink on a mink farm. He is survived by a brother, Milton Munson of Rose Creek. He was preceded in death by his parents. Service: 2 p.m. Thursday at Worlein Funeral Home Interment: Oakwood Cemetery with military rites by VFW Post No. 1216; Visitation: Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials: Family prefers memorials to donor's choice.
