Mildred L. Hammond, 96, died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at St. Mark's Lutheran Home. She was born Oct. 20, 1904, in Meservey (Floyd County) [should be Hancock County], Iowa, to William and Laura (Vitmeyer) Koehler. She married Albert Hammond on May 18, 1935, in Waseca. She was a former school teacher and a homemaker. Survivors include: her husband, Albert Hammond, Austin; two sisters, Edna Lauen, Belmond, Iowa, and Viola Bredlow, Garner, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Herbert, Walter, Gilbert and Raymond.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Andrew Lindahl officiating. Casket bearers will be John Register, Harold Mauseth, Ted Hinrichs and Kenny Guy. Visitation: One hour before the service at the church on Tuesday. Interment: Grandview Cemetery. The Mayer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
