Linda Pagel, 94, of Webster City, died Friday, March 21, 1997 at Hamilton Hospital. Funeral services were held Monday, March 24 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Webster City, with Rev M.L. Milbrath officiating. Interment was in the Eldora Cemetery. Foster Funeral Home of Webster City handled arrangements.

Linda Marie Charlotta Schwebke, daughter of Charles and Emma Kusserow Schwebke was born June 16, 1902 on a farm near Eldora. She attended an Eldora (German speaking) church school. She was a housekeeper and cook for several families in the Eldora area. On December 16, 1926, she married Emil Pagel at Eldora. They started farming in the Cottage Grove area of Hardin county near Hubbard. In 1945, they moved to a farm northeast of Webster City. They retired in February of 1966 and moved into Webster City. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, a former member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Woolstock, the Ladies Aid, Lutheran Missionary Women's League, Deborah Eunice Circle and Farm Bureau.

She was preceded in death by a son, Eugene Lyle Pagel; a granddaughter, Jacquelyn Gangestad; brothers Arthur, Dale, Dallas and Carl Schwebke. Survivors include her husband; daughters and sons-in -law, Virgene and Clarence Stober of Alden, Virlaine and Don Gangestad of Mesa, Arizona, Audrey and Arnold Odland of Webster City; sons and daughters-in-law, Virlin and Virginia Pagel of Clare, LaVerne and Judy Pagel of St. Charles, Missouri, Dennis and Kathy Pagel of Webster City, Lyle and Mary Jo Pagel of Plymouth, Minnesota; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; sisters Adeline DuBoise of Auburn, California, Elvira Pipkin of Des Moines; sisters-in-law Dorothy Schultz of Eldora, Vivian Cowell of Alburnett; several nieces and nephews.
