Marshall Rasmussen, 93, of Goldfield, passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2007, at the USA Healthcare Center, Clarion. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 22 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Eagle Grove. Pastors Paul Stone and Chris Lang will officiate at the 1:30 p.m. service. Visitation will be at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove on Friday, from 5-7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield.

Marshall Rasmussen, was born on February 25, 1914 on the family farm in rural Goldfield, the son of Metz H. and Marie (Madsen) Rasmussen. He attended country schools in Liberty Township near Goldfield and graduated from the Goldfield High School in 1933. On May 24, 1941, Marshall was united in marriage with Helen Schultz at the St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Bode. The couple made their home in rural Goldfield where they were engaged in farming. Marshall retired from farming in 1979.
Marshall was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove.

He is survived by six children, Marvin Rasmussen of Goldfield, Margaret Dill and husband, Duane of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Larry E. Rasmussen and wife, Jina of Goldfield, Lowell Rasmussen of Goldfield, Dennis R. Rasmussen of Goldfield and Brian Rasmussen and wife, Angela of Savage, Minnesota; 1I grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Donald Schultz and sister-in-law, Shirley Schultz of Franklin, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents: wife. Helen on August 2, 2006; two sisters, Gladys Douglas and Helen Folkedahl; and one brother, Max Rasmussen.
