Vincent T. Wilson, 76, of Fort Dodge, passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 3, 2009. There will be a graveside service held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at the Newark Township Cemetery, Vincent, IA. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with Reverend John Sersland officiating. The visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m.. on Friday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Vincent was born in Vincent, IA on January 10, 1933 to Thomas and Anna (Edmonds) Wilson. He graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1951. He married Leila Laurent on December 7, 1952. He then served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea. He was a member of the Local 33 Plumbers & Steamfitters Union working mainly for Midstates Plumbing and Gadbury Plumbing. He was also a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church. He loved spending time with family and watching his grandchildren play sports. He was selected to be in the Fort Dodge Softball Hall of Fame for fast pitch softball. He enjoyed visiting his family and friends, playing golf, most sports, and a good game of cards.

Vincent is survived by his wife Leila; children, Sandy (Jon) Potratz, David (Lisa) Wilson, Brian (Pam) Wilson and Eric (Amy) Wilson; sisters, Evelyn Caldwell and Marie Radosevich; 17 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Anna and daughter Laura Rutherford. Memorials will be left to the further discretion of the family.
