WINONA, MINN. – Robert D. Nielsen, 69, of Winona, died Friday, May 29, 2009 at Sauer Memorial Home in Winona. He was born in Chapin, Iowa. on Oct. 6, 1939 the son of Velslev and Dena (Olk) Nielsen. Robert was united in marriage to Diane L. Worden on November 5, 1960 at Morgan Methodist Church, Dows. She preceded him in death on April 4, 2001. He owned and operated the Clears Variety Store in Belle Plaine following the sale of the store he then worked for Palco Livestock in Belle Plaine and later for S & R Manufacturing of Earlville. He is a member of Winona Elks Lodge #327, Winona, MN.

Robert is survived by his four children: Todd (Suzie) Nielsen, Coralville; Joleen Lynch, Marshalltown; Kimberly (Juan) Roque, Winona, and Angela (Brad) Glandorf, Marengo, IA. and seven grandchildren also survive, Elizabeth, Travis, Emily, Madalyn, Katie, Olivia and Hailey. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a brother, Duane.

Graveside services for Robert will be on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Fairview Cemetery, Dows, Iowa. Services entrusted to Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home and Cremation Services, P.O. Box 833, Winona, MN.
