GOLDFIELD, IA - Jane Ellen Rasmussen, the daughter of Earl A. and Ann (Coons) Bartley, was born May 3, 1935 in Ottumwa, Iowa. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth. Jane attended the Iowa State University Cooking School. She was united in marriage to Merril Rasmussen on June 15, 1955 in Goldfield, Iowa. Jane worked at the Goldfield Hatchery, Jones Food Market, Ron's Restaurant, Goldfield Community School Kitchen, Clarion-Goldfield School Kitchen, Oak Ridge Recreation, Fashions Unlimited and the Goldfield Cheese Mart. Jane passed away Monday, June 1, 2009 at Careage in Clarion, at the age of 74 years. She was preceded in death by her parents. Jane is survived by her husband, Merril Rasmussen of Goldfield; son, Rod Rasmussen and wife, Stephanie of Goldfield; sister, Barbara Bartley of Webster City; granddaughter, Karyssa Hearon of Goldfield; grandsons, Dylan Rasmussen and Steven Rasmussen of Goldfield and Michael Rasmussen of Orangevale, CA. Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 20, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at United Presbyterian in Goldfield with Pastor Joyce Garton-Natte officiating. Foust Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
