Sharon Cecelia Hrubetz, 64, of 115-24th Street SW, Mason City, died Sunday, October 8, 2006, at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, October 11, 2006, at the Bride Colonial Chapel, 110 East Spring Street, Manly, with Reverend Mark Doebel officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Manly. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 10, 2006, and one hour prior to service time on Wednesday at the Bride Colonial Chapel. The family of Sharon Cecelia Hrubetz has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, in her memory.

Sharon Cecelia Hrubetz was born on April 5, 1942, in Manly, the daughter of Orville and Mary (Doebel) Hagen. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic grade school, and graduated from North Central High School in Manly in the class of 1960. She was united in marriage to Dale Hrubetz on February 13, 1960. He preceded her in death. After their marriage together they farmed north of Manly. Sharon also worked as a nurse’s aide at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City, and 15 years for Mode/O/Day in Mason City. In 1986, Sharon graduated from N.I.A.C.C. in Mason City with an associate of arts degree as an executive secretary. After graduating from N.I.A.C.C. she worked in accounting for 20 years for the Airgas Company in Mason City, and was still employed there at the time of her death. She enjoyed remolding homes, woodworking, taking care of her yard, and gardening, but her great love and enjoyment was her family and grandchildren. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Manly.

Left to cherish her memory are her children; Sheryl Madson of Northwood, and her special friend David Leidal of Kensett, Steve Hrubetz and Chris Bills of Manly, Sandy Grandgenett and her husband Kevin of Mason City, and Stanton Hrubetz of Manly, her mother; Mary Hagen of Manly, eight grandchildren; Michelle Hrubetz, Lee Olson, Ashley Bills, Haley Kavaya, Jessica and Jennifer Grandgenett, Danielle and Kaitlyn Hrubetz, five brothers and sisters; Tom Hagen of Northwood, Knute Hagen of Portland, OR, Sarah Hall of Minneapolis, MN, Monica Nitcher of Mason City, and Becky Hull of Clarion, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father; Orville Hagen, a brother who died in infancy; Marcus Paul Hagen, and two sisters; Betty Nitcher, and Mary (Toots) Rork. Bride Colonial Chapel;
