Sarah Eloise Brown, 89, born in State Center, Iowa, February 14, 1920, of parents Frank Clark Brown and Laura (Baie) Brown. Attended State Center Schools followed by a B.A. Degree in Elementary Education at Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa. After teaching for a year and a half in Clarion, Iowa, she married Kenneth F. Henrich on January 2, 1943. After several career moves, the family came to Oklahoma City in 1963. She taught 2nd grade in the Putnam City Windsor Hills School for 11 years (1965-1977). After retiring, she became active in church work, singing in the choir and teaching Sunday School among other helpful activities. She also worked as telephone counselor for the Contact Helpline. Her special interest was in PEO which she joined in 1940 and became affiliated with Chapter EK of OKC in 1964. From 1993 until her passing, she was a resident at Epworth Villa Retirement Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Gertrude Buck of Waterloo, Iowa, a son William (Billy), and her husband Kenneth F. Henrich who passed in 2004. She is survived by a son Jim Henrich of OKC, a son Stephen Henrich and wife Rose of Lancaster, CA, a grandson Kenneth Wilson Henrich of Winfield, KS. Also survived by a niece Jan Buck Jacobson of Iowa City, Iowa and a nephew David Buck and wife Ruth of Waterloo, Iowa. A memorial service will be held at Grace United Methodist Church, 6316 N. Tulsa Ave. on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the Epworth Benevolent Fund.
