Louella Sophia Bray was born at Cylinder Ia. on June 9, 1890 and grew to womanhood there. On May 9, 1909 she was united in marriage to Clarence Bray at Dows Ia. and to this union, one daughter, Genevieve, was born. The family left Dows in 1915 and came to Washburn County and have resided in the town of Crystal for the past 46 years. Mrs. Bray had been in failing health for several years and passed away at the Shell Lake Hospital on Thursday, Dec. 31, 1964 at the age of 74 years. Her husband, Clarence, preceded her in death on June 27, 1964.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Elmer Anderson (Genevieve), Spooner, one grandson, Robert Anderson, one great-grandson, two sisters, Mrs. Grant Bray, Spooner and Mrs. Clarence Myre, Forest City Ia., four brothers, Arthur Hagenson, Percy Hagenson and Elmer Hagenson, all of Thompson, Ia., and Orlo Hagenson, Lake Mills Ia. and many other relatives. Funeral services were held on Monday, January 4 at 2 p.m. at the Dahl Funeral Home, Rev. Roy S. Brown, Trego, officiated, burial in Earl Cemetery. Casket bearers were Sam Gilbert, Ray Shoquist, Nalmar Nelson, Carl Johnson, Arthur Buttenhoff.
