Mrs. A. R. Woodley Dies Sunday at 78
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Church of Christ at 2 p. m. with Rev. Calvin Milan officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Clair McOllough, Mrs. Grace McClelland and Mrs. Calvin Milan who played the organ. Pallbearers were Dorsey Southard, Daryl Marshall, E. F. Sheffield, Kenneth Tillman, Laurence Woodley and Walter Pardun. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery. J. H. Eyler Funeral home was in charge.
Carrie Ellen Ekblom was born October 5, 1880, near Akron, Ohio. She was the daughter of John and Mary Ellen Ekblom. At the age of five years she moved with her parents to Clarion, where she grew to womanhood. She graduated from Clarion high school with the class of 1899. On January 15, 1902, she was united in marriage to Andrew Roy Woodley. To this union three sons were born: Harold, who died in infancy, Leo and Clair of Clarion. In the spnng of 1918 Mr. and Mrs. Woodley took a young girl, Iona Lamb, into their home, and since that time she shared in the love and comforts they, bestowed on their family. She became a member of the Church of Christ at an early age and served as a deaconess. She passed away February 8, 1959, at the Clarion Memorial hospital at the age of 78 years, 4 months and 3 days.
She was preceded in. death by her parents, her husband and infant son. She leaves to mourn her passing; Her children, Leo, Clair and Iona Flurer; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
