WATERLOO --- Susan Elizabeth Stadtlander Kazarian, 44, of 546 Sunset Road, died Friday, Dec. 28, at Allen Hospital due to medical complications from pancreatitis; services 10 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Waterloo, with burial in Belmond Cemetery, Belmond; visitation 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Locke Funeral Home, 233-6138; memorials to Kazarian Children Trust Fund for Susan's Children, First Security State Bank, 1225 W. Ridgeway Ave., Waterloo 50701.

WATERLOO --- Susan Elizabeth (Stadtlander) Kazarian, 44 of 546 Sunset Rd., Waterloo, died Friday December 28th, at Allen Memorial Hospital due to medical complications from pancreatitis. Susan was born August 3, 1963, in Arlington Heights, IL, daughter of Karen Chapman and Jim Stadtlander. Susan spent her elementary and high school years in Palatine, IL, a Northwest suburb of Chicago. She attended college at the University of Illinois and The University of California at Irvine obtaining her bachelor's degree in biology. In addition, Susan received her master's degree in marriage and family therapy from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas. Susan worked in her related field in Texas, California and Iowa. In 1989 Susan married Kory Kazarian. They lived in Santa Rosa, CA until 1995, when they moved to Waterloo.

Surviving Susan are her beloved children, Austin, 15, Blake, 10, Joshua, 8, and Kamille, 5; her mother, Karen Chapman and Richard Hansen of Denver, Iowa; her father, James Stadtlander and wife Grace of Palm Desert, CA; her brother, Stephen Stadtlander and sister-in-law Pamela and their children Jesseca, Thomas and Sarah of Trabuco Canyon, CA; her husband Kory and his parents Arthur and Kathleen Kazarian of Anaheim, CA; and brothers Gary and wife Tracey and their daughters Kristina and Kimberly; Kris and wife Denise and their son Alec. Preceding Susan in death were her maternal grandparents, Grant and Lucile Chapman; and her paternal grandparents, Ernest and Naomi Stadtlander of Belmond, Iowa.

Funeral Service 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Church, 627 W. 4th St., with burial to follow in Belmond Cemetery, Belmond, Iowa, adjacent to her grandparents. Visitation 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Locke Funeral Home. Memorials: Donations can be made to the Kazarian Children Trust Fund for Susan's Children at First Security State Bank, 1225 W.
