MASON CITY, IA -- Eloise G. (Hall) Hill, 84, died Sunday (Dec. 8, 1996) at the Alden Nursing Home, Lisle, Ill. Born Sept. 24, 1912, in Mason City to John and Lila (Potter) Hall, she lived with her family in Mason City for several years where her father owned a small dairy. Later the family moved to a farm near Nora Springs. Eloise was graduated from Mason City High School and Junior College (normal training). On June 3, 1934, she married Clarence Hill of Forest City. The couple lived for several years in Forest City and Clarion before settling in Mason City where they lived more than 50 years. Eloise was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved baking, sewing and gardening.

She is survived by her husband, Clarence, who resides with daughter, Constance (Mark) Sweeney, 5913 Dover, Lisle, Ill. 60532. In addition, she is survived by daughters, Sharon (Forrest) Gorkowski, Toledo, Ohio; and Dorothy (Norman) Baker, Decatur, Ill.; grandchildren, Cathy Gorkowski (John) Moynihan, Jim (Jeanine) Sweeney, Kristen, Jason, Tyler and Erik Baker; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Conor, Owen and Bailey Moynihan; sisters, Dorothy Wolf of N. Manchester, Ind., Mildred (Harold) Turk, Clarion, and Gertrude Shasky, Phoenix, Ariz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Arlene Braheney; and grandson, David Sweeney. Services will be held today in Lisle, Ill. The family suggests memorials to Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Mason City, or a charity of the donor's choice.
