Dr. A. M. Larson, 93, of Belmond, died Tuesday (June 20, 1995) at the Belmond Healthcare Center in Belmond. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Belmond, with Father Tom Currier and Deacon Nick Schmit officiating. Burial will be in the St. Francis Cemetery, Belmond. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today with a 2:30 p.m. rosary lead by the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the Rosary Society; and a 7:30 p.m. Scriptural wake service at the Tenold Funeral Home, Belmond.

Adolph Melvin Larson, the son of Lewis Larson and Betsy (nee) Nelson Larson was born Aug. 8, 1901, at Kanawha, Iowa. He graduated from the four year dental school at the University of Iowa in 1924, and came to Belmond to begin his practice which has spanned more than 60 years. He was united in marriage to Eva Becker on May 31, 1930. Dr. Larson served on the planning and zoning board for 25 years, served on the Belmond School Board, helped to organize the Belmond Lions Club, was a member of Belmond Fire Department for 10 years, a member of the Belmond Area Chamber of Commerce, Knights of Columbus, member of the Belmond Gridiron Club for over 40 years, Belmond and Clarmond Country Clubs. Dr. Larson was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in
Belmond since 1933 and enjoyed playing golf, bowling, and was an avid fisherman. He took great pride in calling Belmond "home" and his contributions to the community will be long remembered since he has done his part in making the future better for those to follow.

He is survived by his wife, Eva Larson of Belmond, Iowa; daughters, Janyce Kinseth of Belmond, and Judy Long of Palm Springs, Calif.; a son, Larry Larson and his wife, Donna of Carmel, Calif.; grandchildren, Julie Kalkwarf, Jane Turner, Jeff Kinseth, Jill Bedell, Jody Kinseth, Mark Larson, Lori Larson, Kathleen Borgeson, Scott Long, Tim Long, Larry Long, and Elizabeth Good; 14 great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Mabel Sybilrud, Pearl Larson, and Dorothy Higgins, all of Belmond, and Lillian Engel of Fort Worth, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ralph Larson; and two brothers in infancy.
