Carroll “Hook” Bordwell, 84, of Osage Beach, Missouri, formerly of Webster City, died Thursday, February 2, 2006 at the Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Foster Funeral & Cremation Center with Pastor Gerald Caquelin officiating. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery in Livermore, Iowa with Graveside Military Rites conducted by the American Legion Post #119 of Humboldt . Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday and prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Carroll Vernon Bordwell, son of Ace and Irene Riley Bordwell was born on November 2, 1921 in Livermore, Iowa. He received his education and graduated from Livermore High School. On July 12, 1941, he married May Elizabeth Wiese in Blue Earth, Minnesota. The couple made their home in Webster City. He proudly served in the United States Navy during W.W. II. Following his discharge, he was employed by Weavers Ready Mix in Webster City where he was manager of the facility for over 18 years. The couple then moved to Eagle Grove where Mr. Bordwell managed Giese Ready Mix until his retirement. He had been residing in Osage Beach, MO. since 1988.

In addition to his wife, May, he is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Robert and Cathleen Bordwell of Omaha, NE., Deral and Wanda Bordwell of Osage Beach, MO., Don Bordwell of Webster City; daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Vern Alexander of Webster City, Carolyn and James Hodshon of Camdenton, MO.; 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; and his brother, A.C. Bordwell of Algonquin, IL. Mr. Bordwell was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Carm Rasmussen and Darlene Butrick. He was a member of the Webster City Moose Lodge #735 and the American Legion Post #415 of Livermore.
