Passing of a 1954 Classmate - Francis Huss

Francis Huss, 72, passed away surrounded by his loving family, Thursday, February 19, 2009, at Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House in Des Moines. Francis was born to Mary and Otto Huss on September 12, 1936, in Hardy, Iowa. Francis enjoyed farming along with being employed by Roadway Express until retirement at age 54. During retirement, he drove a school bus for Bondurant- Farrar Community School District and was a long time member of Cyclone Country Ramblers and Iowa Wild Rose Good Sam Club.

Francis is survived by his loving wife, Irene of Maxwell, IA; daughter, Ann (Mike) Maertens of Ankeny, IA; son, Duane (Stephanie) Huss of Cottage Grove, MN; beloved grandchildren, Eric, Sarah, Jennifer, Alexander, and Tyler; sisters, Dorothy (Charles) Spotts and Barbara (Danny) Brundidge; and brothers, Robert (Joanne) Huss and Henry (Mary) Huss. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Dean Huss. Funeral services were held Monday, February 23, 2009, at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th, Des Moines; with burial followed at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House in loving memory of Francis.
